SMS Terms and Conditions

 

Text messaging is an additional method of communication that Lake Highlands Girls Classic League(LHGCL) may utilize to reach out to its constituents. For the purposes of this document, mass text messages are defined as texts sent to a predetermined group of persons with whom the sender is not in direct, personal contact on a regular basis. Text messaging may also be utilized for a targeted message to an individual player or parent, coach, referee that is time-sensitive and relevant in nature.

Guiding Principles

  • Preserve texting as an additional channel for important player-related communications as outlined in the Categories of Messages section. LHGCL will keep texts to a minimum to ensure that players remain in the texting program and do not opt-out because of overuse. Message frequency may vary.
  • All mobile information the subscriber shares will only be used by LHGCL representatives to assist the LHGCL subscriber. Other LHGCL offices, departments or organizations may collect and use information in forms different than described herein, and as such, the subscriber should review the Website Privacy Policy of LHGCL at https://www.girlsclassicleague.org/privacy_policy.pdf, and the policies of any other electronic services or website of LHGCL that recipients may use.

  • No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

  • Except for emergencies, all outgoing text messages will be initiated between 5 am through 11:30 pm CST.

Scope

All non-emergency mass text messages originating from any LHGCL office, or from any authorized LHGCL employee acting in his/her professional capacity, are included in this procedure.

Categories of Messages

Texting is reserved for information that is considered educational and/or time-sensitive. The following are the categories of mass text messages permitted under this policy:

  • Provide information on upcoming league related events and announcements
  • Notifications of important deadlines or dates
  • Relevant activities or news as it relates to the safety, recruitment, enrollment, and retention of players

Message frequency may vary.

Opt-Out Feature

To stop receiving text messages, simply text STOP (and no other words or characters) to the shortcode or phone number (starts with area code 972) from which you received the LHGCL text message(s). After doing so, you will receive a text message confirming your opt-out and will no longer receive LHGCL text messages to the phone number used to text STOP. Please note texting STOP will only stop text messages to the phone number you used to text STOP.

Players who wish to opt-back in can simply text START (and no other words or characters) to the shortcode or phone number (starts with area code 972) from which you received the LHGCL text message(s).

LHGCL Help

Simply text HELP to the shortcode or phone number from which you received the LHGCL text message(s) for information. For additional assistance, please email leaguedirector@girlsclassicleague.org or call 972-755-1212.

Costs

All costs associated with receiving a text message are the responsibility of the individual receiving the text message. Message and data rates may apply from the wireless carrier. Supported carriers include but are not limited to: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile*, Verizon Wireless, Cricket, and Metro PCS.

LHGCL is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery of information and content to a mobile device may fail due to a variety of circumstances or conditions. You understand and acknowledge that network services, including but not limited to mobile network services, are outside of LHGCL’s control, and LHGCL is not responsible or liable for issues arising from them.

How to Update my Cell Phone Number at LHGCL

  1. Log into Your System Account
  2. Click on the “Personal Information” tab on the far left
  3. From the menu, select “View/Update Cell Phone

App Download & SMS Privacy Policy

Lake Highlands Girls Classic League is committed to your data privacy. In order to use our app on either iOS or Android, you must register within the app and remain logged in. We do not share your information and will only use your unique app registration to push notifications to your device.

This SMS Privacy Policy applies to the websites and services (“Services”) operated by the
league or team or youth sports organization (“Organization”) on which this policy is linked. The
Organization will update this Privacy Policy soon. This Policy sets out how the Organization and
certain of its partners may collect and use any personal information which you provide through the
Services.
INFORMATION COLLECTED
The Organization collects any information that you provide to the Services, including for example,
when you register for an account and provide your email address, a password, and your name.
Depending on how you use the Services, the Organization may also collect
• Contact information such as address and phone number of players and family members;
• Team member information, including where applicable information about your children;
• Messages and chat you send via the services;
• Team information, such as rosters, schedules, attendance, statistics, and scores;
• Activity information you upload, including photos, news, information and other content;
• Payment information;
• Messages and feedback you send to the Organization; and
• Transactional information.
Automatically Collected Information
The Organization may also collect information from your device when you use the Services,
including
• Information about your computer, mobile phone, tablet, and all other similar electronic or
mobile devices, including your IP address, operating system and browser type, device
identifiers, device settings, device attributes, browser settings, the web pages of the Services
you have visited, Services visited before and after you visit a Service, and the content and
advertisements you have accessed, seen, forwarded and/or clicked-on.
• Social Media Information. If you engage with the Services through social media services or other
third-party platforms, such as Facebook, the Organization may have access to certain
Information in your profile depending on your privacy settings.
USE OF INFORMATION
Your information may be used by the Organization to:
• Provide the Services
• For any specific purpose for which it was provided or volunteered.
• To send you information
• To Prevent fraud and defend legal rights
• To comply with applicable law
DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION
The Organization may share your information with:
• Service providers that perform certain business-related functions on its behalf
• Social Networks: if you use social networks through the services.
• Other Users: depending on how you use the Services your information may be available to
other members your league.
• As required by law in with Law Enforcement Agencies or Regulators.
• National Governing Bodies: The Organization may share your information with the following
National Governing Body of your sport, for instance to confirm your eligibility to participate
in a sport.
SPORTSENGINE
The Services are powered by SportsEngine. SportsEngine collects information from users depending
on how they use the Services, as set forth in the NBCUniversal Privacy Policy.
• For logged in users, SportsEngine may collect:
o device identifiers and usage data for analytics purposes,
o data related to messages in the SportsEngine account, and
o volunteer information such as name and email address.
• When administrators are logged in, SportsEngine may collect:
o device identifiers and usage data for analytics purposes,
o data related to messages in the SportsEngine account,
o administrator information such as name and email address data, and other relevant
information when the administrator connects with SportsEngine personnel, for
instance through the built-in chat feature.
• When users are not logged in to SportsEngine, SportsEngine collects device identifiers and
usage data for analytics purposes.
YOUR RIGHTS & CHOICES
• You may unsubscribe from your Organization’s email newsletters or promotional emails by
following the opt-out instructions contained in the email. You may not be able to
unsubscribe from service-related or transactional emails.
• You may be able to access and correct certain information through the features provided by
the Services or by contacting the Organization.
